ARTHUR SEGALL, JR., DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Segall attended undergraduate school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and upon graduation, attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida where he received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1991. Afterwards he completed an Internship/Residency at Hialeah Hospital and Palmetto Hospital in Hialeah, Florida. Dr. Segall was then awarded an AO orthopedic fellowship in foot & ankle trauma and reconstructive surgery, which he completed in Liestal, Switzerland. Upon returning, he took an associate position with Orthopaedic Associates, in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties, Florida, heading their foot and ankle center. In 2003, Dr. Segall, as its President and CEO, opened Segall Foot & Ankle, Inc. with offices in Broward and Dade Counties. Dr Segall’s practice deals with both professionals and weekend warriors involved in work and sports related injuries. He utilizes the newest techniques and equipment in an attempt to return each patient to their normal and usual activities more quickly and safely and at the same time educate the patient on ways to decrease the chances of re-injury. Dr Segall does numerous in-service lectures for many of the local hospitals, community organizations and insurance companies in hopes to prevent injuries before they occur as well as what to expect when treating most foot and ankle injuries. Dr. Segall is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and podiatric medicine. Also, Dr. Segall was a nationally certified wound care specialist who dealt with a large acute and chronic wound care population.
While maintaining his medical practice, Dr. Segall remains very active as the clinical director for Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine third and fourth year podiatric medical students through Westside Regional Medical Center and HCA Hospitals. Also continues as an adjunct professor at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine teaching third and fourth year podiatric medical students as well as a clinical instructor at Westside Regional Medical Center and Memorial Hospital Residency Programs. Dr. Segall is a former board of directors of the Friends of 440, which is an organization that provides scholarships to academically deserving youths of injured workers or those directly involved with workers compensation in the state of Florida. In addition, Dr Segall is a former Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida. Dr Segall is the former chief of staff for the department of Podiatric Surgery and Medicine at Memoral Hospital South(formally known as Hollywood Medical Center) and a former board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club Reitman Unit in Broward County. He still finds time to enjoy a pick up game of basketball for himself. He also enjoys keeping up with his poetry, most recently being published by the National Library of Poetry in A Voyage to Remember.
